Anne Morgenstern
Power Love
8 December 2024 – 16 February 2025 Lesvos island, Greece
K-Gold Temporary Gallery presents the solo exhibition Power Love by German photographer Anne Morgenstern, whose award-winning work is being shown in Greece for the first time. The show, curated by Nicolas Vamvouklis, focuses on corporeality and explores the interplay between desire, identity, and politics.
Through her photographs, Morgenstern challenges traditional standards of beauty and gender, amplifying and empowering bodies that transcend societal norms. The featured series celebrates individuality and the vast spectrum of human emotions, capturing with raw intensity the tactile qualities of skin. The dynamic combination of portraits with images of objects, animals, and architectural elements reveals our deep connection to the environment, illuminating the fluidity of everyday moments. Morgenstern invites us to embrace diversity as a fundamental part of our existence, highlighting the beauty of difference in a deeply poetic way.
The exhibition’s educational program is organized in collaboration with the experiential art space Lefko Harti in Mytilini and includes workshops led by Mari Moustaizi. Further details will be announced on social media. Finally, the show is accompanied by a new monograph on Anne Morgenstern in Greek and English, designed by Marlon Tate. This publication is available at the Gallery and select bookstores in Athens.
